Operation M0H1K tells the story of Katia Bergman's initial mission as a National Security investigator. Commander Dubé, her boss, tasks her with going to Maniwaki to investigate a string of disappearances and murders affecting both the white and Anishinabe communities in the region. Moving up north has left Katia feeling dissatisfied. The couple's quality time is severely constrained because of her husband, Phil Tàmas Nadàsdy's night shifts as an ambulance driver in Outaouais. Yet, upon discovering the magnitude of the situation, Katia becomes overwhelmed by the families' anguish. She therefore accepts the assignment, much to the displeasure of Phil, who considers this investigation too dangerous for a novice police officer, although she has a master's degree in criminology.
